WRITING- TERM 3 For writing this term we have to finish 3 pieces which are: Own choice, Speech and an Information report. We have already started on our own choice, and I published an Information report about Samoan Geography/Culture. Luckily I finished it by the due date.
We are now starting on our Persuasive speech. I was having trouble trying to choose a topic that I can talk about. So we watched Barak Obama's speech which has helped me with my topic which is 'RACISM IS WRONG'. When I watched the speech it helped me about what to write in my speech and it also helped me to organise my speech. Date: 17/8/10 Today in Writing we watched DR. Randy Pauches speech. We focused on how he structed his speech and we also focused on the context of his speech. In his introduction he presented his purpose, then he talked about his childhood life, how to live life, his parents, not complaining, showing gratitude and more. I really enjoyed his speech because it helped me find the important and interesting parts of his speech. DR. Randy Pauches had cancer and was going to die sooner or later. The way he said his speech and the way he presented it was just AMAZING! I also enjoyed this because it helped to learn how to note-take in a better way. Date: 19/8/10 In Writing today, we watched this video about qualites of doing speeches and some tips on how to achieve a speech. People on the video talked about thing like: Being nervous but then atleast admitting it to your audience, being condident and just trying and not giving up etc... After all that we went into writing up our speeches. Date: 20/8/10 Today in Writing we had to present our speeches. I finished presenting my speech, my speech was about racism. I was nervous but I was proud of myself because I got good feedeback from Miss Mattiacci. I also think I've done very well too. However, the thing I had to work on was actually saying my seech more slower instead of saying it very fast, orelse no one would be able yo understand what I''m talking about. I felt very good after I done my speech and HOPEFULLY everyone got in their mind what I was trying tot alk about. Date: 31/8/10
